Step 1
Appointment to have the subject photographed. I use a professional digital camera for the photography session. We will discuss clothing, hair style, background, etc. This should take perhaps a half hour. At this time, a deposit of 50% is requested. I accept cash, checks, most major credit cards. In the case of a loved one who has passed away, we will go through the photographs you have in order to decide on one.
STEP 2
I will email a gallery of your photographs for your input. The photographs will be numbered for easy reference. You will choose a pose and expression you feel best represents the personality of the loved one.
STEP 3
The portrait is based primarily on the photograph we have chosen. A portrait is not an exact duplication of the reference photo, it helps to understand the essence / personality you would like to see
STEP 4
Completion time varies depending on the type and complexity or the portrait. Most head and shoulders oil paintings take approximately 6 – 8 weeks to complete. Oil paintings require more time to create and more drying time between layers of paint.
STEP 5
Contact you when the portrait is complete to make delivery arrangements. At the time of delivery, I am available to make minor changes to the portrait to make sure you are completely happy with the results. I am also available to help you select appropriate framing.
Final payment for your portrait is expected at the time of delivery and upon acceptance of the artwork
